Fall Garden Takes Shape

A few months ago we built the foundation for a Community Teaching Garden around our playground. While it was too late for spring planting, we (staff, families, volunteers) have been eagerly awaiting the time that we could plant for fall. Last week the time finally arrived! Pumpkins, Winter Squash, and Gourds were all planted in our beds. We even started a real pumpkin patch behind our offices in hopes that the Great Pumpkin will visit us this October.

Soon we will be planting cool weather plants. If you’re interested in helping us with our Community Teaching Garden, please contact Meghan@FamiliesTogetherNC.org or fill out our Volunteer Interest Form here.

Fall planting highlights:

We tested the seeds for viability… and we already have sprouts!

That brings a smile to everyone’s face.
